WKFM Program

History of WKFM:

Wesleyan Kids for Missions is the missions program for kids through age 12 in the Wesleyan Church. It was started in December 1902 by George Clark as Young Missionaries Workers Band. In 1992, the General Conference of the Wesleyan Church changed the name to Wesleyan Kids for Missions. In 1903, there were 1,100 members and they gave around $600.00 to send two missionaries to one country. Today there about 10,000 members and enough money to support over 150 missionaries to 50 countries.

Tasks of the WKFM:

The task of the WKFM is to take Christ to all the world. The WKFM tries to win the boys and girls to Christ, and help make them missionaries at home and worldwide.

Motto of the WKFM:

Not by might nor by power, but by My spirit, says the Lord Almighty.(Zachariah 4:6)

Carlisle WKFM

We have a WKFM meeting once a month. During the meeting we sing songs, study different countries, tell stories about missionaries, learn memory verses, collect offering for different projects, learn about our Wesleyan missionaries, and have prayer time. We also study about the Native American Ministries, Hephzibah Children's Home, and our Wesleyan colleges in the USA (Two particular ones are Southern Wesleyan University and Indiana Wesleyan University)
The WKFM always takes a church service during the year. They participate in a reading course program every year. The children read books about missionaries and other stories during the course.
